Marking Memory
2024
For my degree project, I explored how the ephemerality of memory shapes individuals, families, and the collective. Inspired by a beloved family member’s dementia diagnosis, I created a personal archive to preserve and commemorate familial stories.
This archive serves as a microcosm within the larger timeline of history, capturing the narratives of someone significant not only to me but also to her family and community. In doing so, I highlight the importance of preserving memories through objects and practices that extend their impact beyond our lifetimes.
